The other day I went to the opening of Lynette at Chisenhale Gallery. I really like this artist and remembered her from Frieze 2010, when I really had a tough time taking pics of works I liked (basically Zeno X Gallery represents amazing painters and I really liked Sadie Coles stand, with Wilhem Sasanal.). But what I enjoy most of all are interviews to artists, so I will copy some of Lynettes’s answers to Jamie Stevens questions in the exhibition brochure…
I was in Mysore, India for Xmas. I did an exhibition in the house where I was staying.
Check an extract of “Entre-Deux” (ENTRE DOS or in English something more ambiguous than ‘the space in between us’ ) the video I produced in my 1 month stay there. It is about how time in its duration can fold leaving an empty space in between. It is about intersection and geometry, the moon and off screen events. I also showed a video I did in 2010, “TOUCH” during another stay in Mysore. It is also about time and duration, and how days beautifully repeat in tropical places. In little house there was a couple of paintings as well. One of them “Thieves in the night” became a sort of performance with the guy from the projectors rental sitting in my bed all evening.
